“Stars” is an award-winning ad from the International Red Cross that shows the senselessness of war and how beauty can spring from the worst scenarios. It’s really quite touching.

And this Red Cross spot, entitled “World Upside Down,” is beautifully filmed if nothing else.

The service organization Rotary International does some good work, but their ads haven’t always been the most entertaining spots on TV. This new PSA, however, is very nicely made. It’s called “A new symbol for peace,” and it is definitely influenced by the indie-type aesthetic. Check it.

This old and much-aired ad for the ASPCA is just too sad. Sarah McLachlan I could do without, but until then I’m torn between joy at seeing cute animals and sadness that the world is so cruel. Talk about effective advertising!
