Lashisse: a Latisse parody from Funny or Die
I’ve been making fun of Latisse for a while, so I rather enjoy this parody from Funny or Die. They even have their own website (whyaremyeyesbleeding.com) for some reason.

This has to be the most ridiculous product ever advertised. I don’t think this is the original version of the commercial that I remember, but it’s still damned hilarious. It’s water, for the love of crap! Humanity never fails to disappoint.

Automaker Honda really outdid themselves with this classic ad, which is based on the concept of the Rube Goldberg device. It’s truly impressive, and apparently took many takes to get right. One of my favorites!
“Stars” is an award-winning ad from the International Red Cross that shows the senselessness of war and how beauty can spring from the worst scenarios. It’s really quite touching.
And this Red Cross spot, entitled “World Upside Down,” is beautifully filmed if nothing else.
If somebody came up to me in an airport and started talking about my colon, instead of engaging in a conversation with them, I’d probably just try to get away as quickly as possible. And how sad is it that this woman is going to be known as “The Colon Lady” for the rest of her life?
The New York Lottery isn’t particularly known for their outstanding commercials, but this one is pure advertising gold. It’s by far the best they’ve ever released, for one reason: baby animals. It’s really incredibly cute.
This is a very cute new commercial from American Express that finds happy faces in everyday objects. It isn’t a new idea, but it’s still fun to watch.
I have to say I like this DSW commercial, which features shoes at a speed dating event. It’s elegantly done, if anything.
Portions of the new commercial for Levi’s, which is patriotically titled “Go Forth America,” seem to be obviously ripping off Feist’s music video for “I Feel It All.” The sparklers and fireworks, the dark water, the youthful cavorting, even the girl’s black and white striped shirt are clear matches.
But don’t take my word for it…see for yourself!
It’s hard to criticize McDonalds for what seems like a perfectly well-intentioned marketing campaign, not to mention their associated community outreach efforts. But this 365Black campaign seems like a step in the wrong direction in some ways, and the name needs some work. I went onto the campaign’s website hoping to find a mature representation of the 21st Century African-American community. And for the most part, the site is normal fast food website content, but they come off as a little bit delusional on the About page, where they attempt to portray themselves as the mighty baobab that provides life to the entire community.

Thanks to Rock the Vote, I got a sneak peak of this new commercial, which is set to start airing tonight. Actors Zach Braff and Donald Faison from TV’s Scrubs voice their support for health care reform, and Donald shows off his sexy abs (well actually it’s more of a pot belly). Oh, and Zach Braff implies he’s had lots of extra nipples removed. That would make sense considering his last commercial role.
Actor Ron Perlman, best known for playing Hellboy, appears here in an ad for beermaker Stella Artois. The ad is titled “Devil’s Island,” a reference to the famed prison colony of yore.
This is one of the better directed beer commercials I’ve seen. Well worth checking out! And if you know who directed it, drop me a line!
