Ad of the Week: Max Skate Bike, 1989
Now I don’t really remember this product, which apparently was all the rage in the late ’80s, but it looks hilarious. The Max Skate Bike appears to be some kind of magical combination between a skateboard, a scooter, a BMX bike, and roller skates. And the ad itself is pure comic gold. Keep an eye out for the Michael Jackson impersonator (how timely).

I don’t remember this thing either, but I am digging the plug at 24 seconds. There is a big Pepsi Banner on the wall when the guy goes through the window. You think Pepsi endorsed this disaster of a toy?
Ha! I didn’t spot that, good one. Pepsi owned pretty much everything at the time so it’s fairly likely they had something to do with the skate bike. The guy going through the window is definitely the best part.
