The Folgers riverdance ad
This is the ad I was actually looking for when I ended up posting the magical briefcase Folgers ad. This Folgers commercial is such a classic, it barely needs an introduction. Let’s just say it’s a little story about a free-spirited dancer who needs caffeine to get her going in the morning, but once she does, it’s Riverdance time. I find it strange that Folgers keeps playing this ad year after year, as if it’s not dated at all. Remember when Riverdance was actually kind of trendy? That was a long time ago.
First off-I can’t believe Saatchi & Saatchi is so uptight and had the commercial removed!!! What’s their problem?!? 2nd-Is there any way to find out,other than going to Saatchi & Saatchi,who the lady singing the jingle is? I like the commercial,even though I don’t really drink coffee,as a whole but there’s also just something about the lady’s voice I like and am wondering if she’s done anything,like full songs and not just ads,else?
I know, I’ll never understand why companies wouldn’t want customers to spread their ads online. We’re doing free work for them! Hmph.
As for the jingle, I have no idea who sang it, but you might have some luck on one of the big ad messageboards…sorry I can’t be of more help!
